British Columbia’s Medical Services Plan covers several types of eye exams, but only if medically required. These include:
- Ocular disease, trauma or injury
- Systemic diseases associated with significant ocular risk (e.g. diabetes)
- Medications associated with significant ocular risk
Routine eye exams are covered by the plan for citizens under age 19 and 65 or older.
