The Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Care Plan (MCP) covers procedures which are considered medically necessary or treat a significant impairment or function of the eye, such as high myopia, keratoconus, or irregular astigmatism. Other covered services include glaucoma testing and various surgical procedures. The MCP does not include coverage for eye exams for corrective lenses.
A complete list of services covered by the MCP can be found on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador health coverage website. There is no minimum or maximum age requirement.
