The largest Canadian province covers vision-related service for its citizens under the Quebec Health Insurance Plan. Citizens under the age of 18 or above the age of 64 are entitled to free optometry care. Individuals between 18-64 may also receive free care if they are a part of the last-resort financial assistance program for a period of 12 months. People who suffer from a visual impairment may also receive free care, providing that they register with a visual aid specialist. More details and exceptions are available on the Government of Quebec website.
