All citizens under the age of 18 are eligible for free annual eye exams. Residents of any age who have diabetes are also eligible, but routine follow-up exams are not covered. Eye emergencies are covered by the Saskatchewan healthcare plan. These can include things such as eye injuries, burns, foreign objects in the eye, etc.
